Little Paige has come to visit for two weeks while her mommy is out of town for trainings. Other than the fact that T-Pa doesn't handle night-time noise very well, we're all having fun!
Paige is scooting around pretty well, now, and enjoys being silly with T-Pa. She LOVES to eat!! She gets so excited about food . . . she actually crosses her eyes sometimes from looking so hard at the spoon coming toward her. We're having fun, and T-Ma is going to show her off at work this week.
She likes the dogs, but mostly watches, which seems to suit Indy just fine. He will come and lie near her or in the recliner with us when we're rocking Paige.
Call me crazy . . . we picked up a new puppy two days after Paige came. She's a rescue puppy . . . the best estimate is part schnauzer and part rat terrier. The people who were "fostering" her were totally attached and spoiling her rotten. She's about 12 weeks old, and one of four females found by a dumpster. She is the sweetest thing, even if she's a little scruffy! James really wanted another Westie, but we weren't sure how Indy would do with another dog. This will give us a trial period before the adoption is "official". Indy's having his moments, but mostly tolerating and even playing with her. I think that after a couple of weeks, they'll have worked out the "rules". We still haven't named her, but Micheal's going to help us with that.
There's actually quite a bit of red in her coat, as well as the brown. Her coat is kind of "heathered" with the cream, brown, and red.
After a few serious warnings from Indy, he decided to play. The pup leaps around and spins like a little fawn, and Indy turns in circles watching her. The he establishes that he's dominant by pushing her to the floor, where she rolls over and tries to chew on him. Paige likes to watch them play.
Probably the biggest surprise was Micheal's reaction. He started laughing when he came home and saw the little shaggy thing sitting on his dad's lap. The pup seemed to love Micheal right away, and ended up sleeping on his lap all evening. She slept on Micheal's bed with him last night. I think that we can safely say that the pup has claimed Micheal as her own!
I'm off of work for two weeks to stay home with Paige, so I thought that it would be a good time to get a puppy, with extra time for housetraining. She practically trained already!
I'm looking forward to a fun two weeks.
